We wanted to make Upslope the official beer of the great outdoors. We put together a tap room in the middle of nowhere and a few print ads to do just that. The Backcountry Taproom has continued to be one of Colorado’s most beloved beer events—with crowds growing from 350 word-of-mouth attendees in its first year, to now being capped at 2,000 ticketed attendees.

At 15, I started my first job at Domino's. I quit after 3 weeks. Then, 8 years later, I worked for Dominos again. Except this time I didn't have to wear khakis. And the only onions I dealt with were digital.

JCPenney wanted to prove that giving is better than receiving. So, we created a film to show that some real-deal holiday spirit still exists, and encouraged folks to join in on the generosity.

Odell’s Colorado Lager is brewed in Colorado, available only to those in Colorado, and easy-drinking enough to enjoy with all things Colorado. That being said, it wasn’t much more than a pretty can to its drinkers. Our goal was make this the beer of inclusivity. Unlike other beers, Colorado Lager doesn’t demand any achievements, exertion, or earning before cracking open a cold one. It’s simply here to make all the things you choose to do in Colorado feel that much greater.

For American Craft Beer Week in 2016, we gave Big Beer a taste of its own merger-loving medicine by showing the impact that craft beer can have when all of its breweries come together. We made small beer big for 7 whole days by creating an actual beer that was the biggest collaboration in brewing history. Then, we promoted it with videos and posts across the social media accounts of 4400 breweries to make sure American Craft Beer Week became an event to be remembered.

To launch a new Mac & Cheese recipe at its restaurants, Noodles & Company needed a way to stand out amongst other QSRs with similar offerings. We differentiated Noodles’ by adding more “&” to Mac & Cheese. With more “&” the beloved classic dish could be plussed up with whatever diners were in the mood for—from crispy jalapeños to 5 night of saying, “Yes &...”

A good name should tell you the big stuff you need to know without a lot of big words. A name wraps up what to expect next before you even take another step on the brand journey. It wraps up purpose, feeling, and personality all in one. Here are a few of our favorites.
I've had the opportunity to work with brands big and small over the years. Here are a few highlights from the archive.
